I DON’T KNOW WHICH DOMAIN I WANT TO USE WITH MY FREE ACCOUNT. CAN I CHANGE IT LATER?
- We don’t actually sell or register domain names at this time, so changing your domain is a simple configuration change which you can do at any time. If you need to buy a domain name we recommend www.namecheap.com
WHAT DOES “ACCOUNT NAME” OR “SITE NAME” MEAN?
- We’ll create a account.wpengine.com subdomain that let’s you access your site immediately, and we use the account name internally to help support you. It just has to be unique, between 3 and 14 characters, and cannot have a numeric digit as the first character in the name.

OfficePort to Host WordCamp KC 2012

WordCamp KC 2012 will be hosted at OfficePort this year!

Right in the heart of Kansas City, OfficePort is a coworking space that has been graciously hosting our monthly Meetups for a little over a year. We are delighted to host our event here.

Your WordCamp 2012 Planning Team

As we plan our second WordCamp in Kansas City, it seems appropriate to introduce the planning team. Josepha is back and pleased to announce the addition of Jase Wilson and Pippin Williamson to the team. Jacob is focusing on his new adventures in San Fransisco, but is trying to make it back for the event itself.

Josepha Haden (@josephahaden) works with Haden Interactive and MMGY Global. Her work focuses on the use of Google Analytics to measure usability and the effectiveness of site design. A proud member and organizer of the WordPress MeetUp group for Kansas City.

Jase Wilson (@luminopolis) comes to us from Luminopolis. Entrepreneur & web developer by trade, urban designer by training. Interests include helping people engage with the places they care about, helping local governments save time and money, and helping others earn what they want in life. Pippin Williamson (@pippinsplugins) is a 23 year old freelance WordPress developer from Lawrence, KS. Hello fellow KC WordPressers, it was nice seeing you all at tonight’s Meetup. We learned a ton from Chris Ensell of Overdid.it and Adcuda fame. We also discussed a variety of topics amongst ourselves, including what we’d like to hear about and discuss at upcoming meetups. You came up with a number of great ideas, including using WordPress as a CMS, Design 101, WordPress basics, and admin area UX. To gauge demand for topics and keep the floor open to more suggestions from you, here is a form to fill out when you have a moment. We will use your feedback to program the next several meetups. That’s right WordCamp Kansas City 2012 is scheduled for June 1st – 3rd, 2012. We will be kicking it off on Friday afternoon and rocking our brains with WordPress knowledge until Sunday afternoon.
